SKY-White.jpg
The installation sky is made out of waterproof membranes, plastic tubes and chalk applies on a rectangular surface on the floor.

Two waterproof membranes are hung, connected to the primary structure of the exhibition space. A drain connects the membranes centers with transparent tubes that are rolled to a circular shape on the floor. On the concrete floor is a rectangular drawn in chalk that reassembles the area of the two membranes together.

The installation sky reconstitutes the immediacy of the shelter character of architecture by its experiential presence. As a fragile double of the space in which it is actually presented it intends to heighten a subconscious experience to a intellectual experience. In its reduced gesture it intends to relate to historical expressions of physical separations to the sky above, such as a tent, the Jewish Sukkoth or the Catholic ceremonial canopy, but also to the conceptualizing of tectonics in architecture as with Gottfried Sempers primordial hut. The duality of the object relates on one hand to the actual 2-bay structure of the physical space in which the installation occurred. On the other hand it relates to the smallest unit of a social community which shares the same ground, while maintaining an individual security system.
